Marmot Venus Down Jacket – Women’s
Marmot Venus Down Jacket, Wear the Marmot Women’s Venus Down Jacket alone when you’re scurrying from bar to bar under a clear moonlit sky or wear it under a shell for added warmth when the pressure drops and the clouds dump their loads. Marmot stuffed this jacket full of super-warm 800-fill down, but the Venus stays slim and lightweight so you can use it as a layering piece, or as a just-in-case insulator waiting in the bottom of your pack. Downproof fabric keeps down insulation from sneaking out of the jacket while the Angel Wing arm construction increases range of motion.

This jacket is just as it looks in the table, even if it was lighter weight than I thought (not necessarily a bad thing, just different) The color was slightly darker and more brilliant pink shown in the picture. I've worn almost every day since arriving in all kinds of weather. Light enough to layer over a sweater on a cold day, but as comfortable on a t-shirt when you're not sure if she'll stay cold enough to warrant a jacket all day. The bugs pass me a little when it is zipped all the way up, he pokes me right in the chin. Other than that, about an all-around good jacket! Wrap small, if you will use for travel, it is easy to throw in your bag as a last minute add.
I bought this jacket with heat and weight in mind for backpackers and I was not disappointed. The jacket is ideal - I usually wear a sz medium. 8-10 jacket and bought a med. It is spacious enough to wear over other clothing without being baggy. This is a perfect flattering, too, and long enough in the arm. The best feature of this jacket is how it is lightweight and compact. The 10 ounces squeezes down into a bag Granite Gear Air (# 2 to 5 x 11.25 in) that I bought from REI, which then feeds in bags next to my backpack. This is also great for travel - and converts it into a pillow of Nice on the plane. I like green, too, and have had many compliments.
